John Horsfield from Save Butterfly World joined us to explain how, whilst the online petition is showing amazing support from right across the country, messages of support from local people, groups and businesses are what they are looking for now. Please send your messages to contact@savebutterflyworld.com or to

For more information go to savebutterflyworld.com – but John warned that the volunteer who is updating their website had the request for local support on her to do list.
Alex Calnan from Electric Blue, a local company that has brought electric taxis to St.Albans, told us how they were hoping to launch a bond. Local people can invest in a programme of new charging points aimed primarily at commercial vehicles (who tend to be the heaviest polluters) but also available for private use. Alex anticipated that the bond would be for 3 years, should give a healthy return on investment and would be a great way to use your money to improve local air quality. You should, of course, seek your own financial advice.
