WA Podcast 116 – Comic Con Security

Solving Webcomic Issues We All Face. Today’s discussion… Phoenix ComicCon was exciting for a lot of reasons this year, but one event was downright disturbing.  When an armed man made it past security and was taken down by the cops, the show issued a convention-wide prop ban that has a lot of comicon fans wondering how the nature of shows might change for vendors and cosplayers in the future.  Robin Childs (LeyLinesComic.com & MokoPress.com), Dawn Griffin (DawnGriffinStudios.com), Chris Flick (CapesNBabes.com) and Christina Major (Sombulus.com) are joined with special guest Harry Crosland (PopCultureUncovered.com) to discuss the impact this has on shows, safety, and security for everyone. More about today’s guest: Harry is a cosplayer and content creator.  Head over to Pop Culture Uncovered for podcasts and articles on your favorite films, TV shows, comics, conventions, and more!  You can also follow the latest on Twitter @PCUncovered or connect with Harry on Facebook @BishopCosplay.  He’s also a professional photographer.  Harry is a man of many skills and has some great thoughts to share about cosplay and conventions.  We really appreciate him joining us today! People/events mentioned: Man armed with multiple guns and hand-held weapons arrested at Phoenix Comic Con 2017 Travis Hanson (The Bean) regular Phoenix Comic Con vendor Warning: Podcast may contain some language not suitable for all-ages
