episode 4: Feedback Without Permission Is A Dangerous Game with Lottie Unwin

In this episode, I speak with Lottie Unwin, an experienced Marketeer and Strategist with unique combination of big business training and start-up experience, from FMCG to fin-tech. Lottie has worked with the likes of Dr Will’s, Elizabeth Scarlett, ByRuby and Nix & Kik.

Having completed her graduate training at marketing powerhouse Proctor & Gamble, Lottie then joined Propercorn to lead their marketing efforts. Missing the support that P&G provided she quickly decided to seek out other connections who could help her on her journey - and she was soon regularly going for coffees and drinks with people doing similar roles in other companies.

The Copy Club (a members network for marketeers in entrepreneurial businesses) originally started as a supper club back in 2014 but quickly grew to a community of 500+ marketeers. Fast forward to today, she has a successful business, and runs courses, events and recruitment for startups.

In this episode we discuss:

  • The dangers of feedback
  • The idea of the Copy Club and business model
  • Why Lottie changes her Job role every quarter
  • How LinkedIn plays a part in her business
  • And what questions founders should ask themselves.
