The lululemon Speakers Series Podcast is designed as an internal-facing company podcast, designed to
help lululemon’s thousands of employees, worldwide, connect with the vibrant speakers’ series offered at
the Vancouver head office. The goal of the podcast: to help build meaningful company culture -- remotely.
The Speakers’ Series itself features a diverse array of inspiring leaders and is designed to encourage
leadership qualities in lululemon employees. In this episode, first released during Pride Week, 2019, trans
activist Corey Rae joins the show to talk about confidence, acceptance, and the importance of visibility.
As you’ll hear, Corey remembers a time when "transgender" wasn’t even a word recognized by her
computer’s Spellcheck. But things are changing, and company culture is evolving -- along with
Spellcheck.
As a writer, activist, entertainer, model, public speaker, and the world's first transgender highschool prom
queen, Corey Rae works tirelessly towards a day when the world will recognize, automatically, the many
ways to be a woman. Here, she shares her story with host Juma Wood and guest host Michael Lorsch
from lululemon’s Department of People Development.
