Time Life Superstars 3:5:22 4.10 PM

Music Intro by: Gail Nobles © 2022

Time Life added music in 1967, selling box sets and collections through Time–Life Records. During the 1960s and 1970s, the collections released by Time–Life Records catered to an adult audience, They have a long list of music series. Soul, Rock, Classic, Easy Listening, and music of all kinds. Music I enjoy. The 60s, the 70s, the 80s. …

I saw Soul Superstars of the 70’s from their commercial on television. I love their commercials. The commercial was showing so many singing groups and singers like George Benson, Whitney Houston, and Marvin Gaye. There were so many hit songs that were mentioned, and every singing group and singer was definitely a superstar.

Time Life was founded in 1961 as the book marketing division of Time, Incorporated. It took its name from Time Inc.'s own cornerstone magazines, Time and Life, two of the most popular magazines of the era, but remained independent from both. Starting in 1967, Time Life combined its book offerings with music collections (two to five records) and packaged them as a sturdy box set. After Walter Wanger's death (film producer) in 1968, its Time Life Films subsidiary also acquired his production company Walter Wanger Productions and many of its films. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, the selection of books, music and videos grew and was diversified into more genres. When record labels were no longer producing vinyl albums in 1990, Time Life transitioned to CD.
