Britain's new Prime Minister, Theresa May, "has to tow a very careful line," said Sewell Chan, The New York Times international news editor. "The future of Britain as a multinational state could be in jeopardy now."
One of the PM's messages was to show solidarity with France in the wake of the latest attack in the city of Nice. The two countries have been allies for decades and there's no doubt as to their geopolitical alliance, says Chan.
