Be Calm on Ahway Island Bedtime Stories

It's Adoption Day at the Ahway Island Animal Shelter and Larry Iguana is grateful for his Shelter family.

King of the Shelter Excerpt:





It was a bright sunny day on Ahway Island. The wind was gently blowing, providing everyone on the island a refreshing breeze to keep them cool in the hot sun. Kids played outside and pedestrians in downtown Ahway Island greeted each other with friendly “hellos” as they walked along the streets. Larry Iguana watched the people from inside the big front window of the Ahway Island Animal Shelter. The sun peaked through the window and felt very nice on Larry’s skin as he watched the people hurry by.

 

Even though Larry was enjoying the sun and watching the local residents, he felt a little strange. It was Adoption Day at the Shelter, which was usually a very exciting day. But Larry had been at the Ahway Island Animal shelter for a long time already. He wondered what it would be like if someone decided to come in and adopt him. Larry did love the shelter, and Dr. Bowski always made sure he had the best food and care, but a lot of his friends had left the Shelter and found their forever homes. Larry remembered hearing the excited meows of Kit Cat when she was adopted. Larry also remembered how happy his good friend Gilbert Goldfish was when he was taken to a new home.
