episode 61: Stress, Intensity and Sled-Pulling to Enhance Momentum with Dr. Peter Tierney - Petey Performance Podcast #61

This episode of the podcast is a conversation with Dr. Peter Tierney of Lululemon. Dr. Tierney is working as a Senior Research Scientist with the company in Vancouver, having experience working in elite sport with Leinster Rugby and the English FA in the past.

Thus, Peter brings a unique perspective to his role in Product Innovation with the company, and it was really interesting to chat to him about the many lessons he's learned in elite sport, which have benefitted his performance in his new role.

We had time to talk about a whole host of topics over the course of this conversation, touching on stress, sleep and recovery, teaching methods, differences between coaching in elite football and elite rugby union, sled-pulling to enhance momentum and/or acceleration performance, intensity-differences between various levels of rugby union and World Rugby's new guidelines for contact training.

Dr. Tierney has achieved quite a lot in his short career so far, and I have no doubts that he'll continue to achieve great things in his new role in Canada.
