This episode of the podcast is with our first returning guest, S&C Coach and Mentor, Sam Portland.
Sam is currently in the process of releasing his own certification, focused on teaching coaches the fundamentals of speed coaching in a clear and actionable manner. This was a big focus point of our conversation, as well as speaking about how many coaches neglect speed coaching with their athletes, for fear of the unknown.
We also spoke about how important it is to be able to teach, in order to be a good coach, as well as how it important it is to understand basic physics, in order to coach speed effectively.
We also spoke about athlete archetypes and categorisation of team-sport athletes in relation to speed, before moving onto speak about when to know that you've done enough as a S&C coach.
You can find out more about Sam's Sports Speed Certification over at coachsportland.co.uk/sport-speed-certification/ or you can contact Sam on his social media channels which I will attach below.
Don't forget to use code "PETEYPSPEED" for 15% off of the total price of the certification, and hopefully I'll see you at one of the seminars in the near future.
