AsianBossGirl

Melody Cheng, Helen Wu-Wang, and Janet Wang are the co-creators of AsianBossGirl, a multimedia company for the modern day Asian-American woman. AsianBossGirl was founded to share their experiences as 9-to-5 professional working women, balancing careers, social lives, cultural identities, and personal development while living in the city of Los Angeles. What started as a passion project podcast has turned into a multi-media business that they now run full-time. On their platforms, you’ll find conversations about the nuanced experience of being an Asian American woman navigating the corporate world as a person of color, mental and emotional health as children of immigrants, interviews with inspiring Asian women (and men), and even blind dates recorded on the mic. Their mission is to make everyday Asian-American women feel heard, seen, and connected.

episode 66: Episode 66: Coming Out with Anna Lee and Justin Rodjanapanyakul

This episode comes at the cusp of May and June - one month celebrating Asian Pacific American Heritage, and the other, LGBTQI with Pride month. Identity plays such a big role in a person’s life, and there are so many facets to it. In this episode, we explore sexual orientation, specifically, homosexuality, and the nuances of what that means when you’re Asian American. Our two guests are very good friends of ours and after having many of these types of conversations offline, we are so happy to offer our platform for them to share their stories.

Anna Lee is a very close friend of Mel's who resides in San Francisco where she works at Facebook as a Business Lead for Entertainment. Anna goes by the pronouns of she/her and identifies as queer. Justin Rodjanapanyakul is a close friend of all 3 of ours (you might recognize him in some of our Instagram posts where he has graciously offered his photography skills). Justin is based in the Los Angeles area where he is a musician and YouTuber, known as one half of the duo, JRodTwins. Justin goes by the pronouns he/his and his sexual orientation is gay.
