This episode of the podcast is with Sport & Performance Nutritionist, Patrick McCarthy.
Patrick is currently beginning a role with Team Biolayne in the US, having made the move to Boston, following some travelling in Costa Rica.
He has experience working with the Clare Senior Footballers, Tactical Athletes in the US and many other athletes and general population clients in a private setting.
He has previously been employed by Daniel Davey, of Davey Nutrition, and is now working under the world-renowned, Layne Norton. As a result, he brings a unique perspective on the use of language around nutrition, how he frames performance nutrition for busy athletes and how he adapts his practice, based on the culture he finds himself in.
All of these were talking points, as well as conversations around weight-loss/body recomposition for athletes, nutrition consultancy for clubs & differing attitudes towards sports nutrition in the US vs Ireland.
We also spoke about the work that he has been doing with firefighters, first responders, the military, the navy & others in the US (Tactical Athletes).
There are also some nuggets of information around content creation, writing and social media strategy for any budding nutritionists in the online space.
