ABOUT DONNA JEAN GODCHAUX-MACKAY:Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Donna Jean Godchaux-MacKay was co-vocalist of the Grateful Dead in the 1970s creating a lasting impact on legendary songs such as “The Music Never Stopped,” “Cassidy,” “Mississippi Half-Step,” and “Playing in the Band” among others. But prior to her years in the Grateful Dead she was a 1960's session musician at the legendary Muscle Shoals Sound Studio in Alabama. And most recently Donna Jean experiencing a full circle shift back to recording at Muscle Shoals for the reworking and release of the Donna Jean and the Tricksters classic “Shelter”, a song originally written many years ago but being revived for 2021.
