episode 40: Stress Relief


When clients come to me with a specific complaint, the cause is never just that one area.  In this episode I will discuss the Entaglement Ecosystem Hierarchy and how stress in the brain can cause problems throughout the body, even down to specific pains.   At Wholistic Natural Health Australia, we go down this list first to find the root cause:

  1. Brain stress, which causes inflammation.
  2. The lymphatic system has to pick up the slack to cleanse the body of the internal toxins, including toxic thoughts.
  3. The gut is where food is digested, and also the first place where pathogens will attack.
  4. Your vascular system is next, where problems like varicose veins, cramping, deep vein thrombosis, or vascular insufficiency can show up.
  5. The neural system is affected by insufficient circulation, which can show up as nerve pain.
  6. Next in the hierarchy is your organs, most especially the liver.  Stress directly affects the functioning of your organs.
  7. Your endocrine or hormone system has to step up next and respond.
  8. Muscle or joint pain, which at this point has been hammered by the stress that has traveled through your body.
  9. Now we finally get to the local site of pain.

Your fight/flight/freeze response is useful when you are in mortal danger.  However, modern daily stressors affect the brain and body in the same way as a saber-toothed tiger would have.  There are many things you can do to relieve your stress and bring down your cortisol level to better your health.


I'm going to give you some homework today.  Make a list of 5 ways you can relieve your stress.  There are some simple rules to this list:

  1.  The stress reliever cannot cause stress.
  2. Don't impose rules on yourself that you know you can't keep.
