Gutting the Sacred Cow

Gutting the Sacred Cow invites guests to argue why some of the most financially successful, beloved or acclaimed films are trash or overrated. But here's the twist, the film must meet 1 of these criteria: widely beloved, financial success, or critically acclaimed. Standup comedians Kevin Gootee and Kevin Israel love films and they love arguing about them.. But will they agree with their guests arguments or feed them into a wood chipper? We give a platform with those who have unpopular opinions to be bold enough to voice them. What are some films that have faced scrutiny: Back to the Future, Goodfellas, Shawshank Redemption, the Dark Knight, Toy Story, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, the Matrix, and Die Hard. Can the guests persuade us or do we rip them a new one? Give us a listen and we'll easily prove that we belong on any top movie podcast list. We throw plenty of fun segments in the mix: 5 fun facts, our readers have us ask our guests questions they'd like answered in "Ask a Gutter", critics 5 and 1 star reviews and our FAVORITE segment, reading Amazon 5 and 1 star reviews...

Blade Runner: One of the biggest science fiction box office bombs as well as having one of the biggest cult following. You either love this film or you hate it. Marshall Julius HATES this film, the director's cut, and the mother's director's cut with a fiery passion. He doesn't care for Harrison Ford playing Deckard, a cop hunting replicants. But do Kevin Gootee and guest host Jeffrey Paul agreeing with Marshall's assault on this Ridley Scott landmark film? Or do they crunch his skull like Rutger Hauer does in the film? Are you a fan of Blade Runner? Sound off in the comments!
