This episode of the podcast is with Kilkenny-man & Rouen Normandie Rugby star, Peter Lydon.
Peter has been playing professional rugby abroad for almost 10 years now and has become accustomed to many of the cultural differences out in France, as he plies his trade in the Pro D2.
However, one thing that he has not been able to accept is the differences in approach to home vs away games from fans and players alike. That was a big topic of conversation over the course of this conversation, as well as how important it is for him to prepare mentally in the same way for both games in Rouen and around France.
We spoke a lot about maintaining high standards and team-leadership, as well as advice he would give to younger players who have aspirations of playing at the highest level.
We also touched on the value of getting extras in outside of team-training sessions and the benefits of playing multiple sports at a young age, as well as integrating extra speed and conditioning into your own training program.
