Does it matter how we behave? Surely an ever loving, all powerful God will always forgive us whatever we do? It’s an old question but one with a contemporary and a very personal twist. Things may not be as clear as they first appear, whether you are a 1st century Roman citizen or a Swindonian, vintage 2016. For one thing, it’s a different matter to live on your own terms, consciously and deliberately doing your own thing, as opposed to committing to live by God’s standards and accepting that you will, on occasion, fall short of the mark. Accepting God’s Grace isn’t an invitation to keep on (deliberately) doing wrong. Living and acting like that won’t make Grace any bigger or longer lasting – we already know and can receive Grace in full. Being alive to Christ means we are dead to sin and are invited to commit to living and growing in light of what we have put on, as opposed to what we have taken off. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7AQeYL9c74
