The desert can be a brutal tormentor especially for people who aren't prepared. The hot sun licking at exposed skin, the dry air sucking its victims dry. Park rangers find dehydrated hikers rambling around, incoherent, some barely able to stand. But on August 4th 1999, just a Stones throw from a trail head, Park rangers would come upon something they never could have anticipated….. the body of a man covered in stones and his apparent killer resting in a tent nearby.
