Are pets in heaven?

Pastor William Shifflett and Scott get off topic in this episode, but touch on some interesting thoughts. Do Bulldogs go to Heaven?

Dogs ? Cats ? Rainbow Bridge ? Pets ? Heaven ?

“The goal of the Christian’s vision is not his own death, but stretches beyond that to the return of Christ and the consummation of His kingdom.”

Glorification involves the return of Christ, the resurrection of the body, our reunion with all of the saints of all time, and our eternal home of the new heavens and new earth where righteousness dwells.

We have briefly covered the Christian Life from predestination up to glorification.

Glory is a divine attribute.

Pastor, is glorification - sanctification made perfect?

Colossians 3:4 - When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.

In His grace, our holy God has granted that we will actually share in His glory.

Do you think that we can fully understand this blessing?

There are four fascinating facets of this Biblical teaching.

A.After death, Something greater lies in store for Christians.

Philippians 1:21 - For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

It’s more than presence with God. We need to think in terms of “Then and now, before and after.”

“Glorious though the immediate presence of God must be, there is something greater still in store for us!”

Why is the glorification of Christians necessary?

Are Christians able to sin in glory?

B.Something greater lies in store for Christ.

Hebrews 2:9 - But we see Him who for a little while was made lower than the angels, namely Jesus, crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone.

1 Thessalonians 4:16 - For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.

How can Paul say that "the dead in Christ shall rise first" Aren't the dead already with Christ?

Pastor, how do we see the glorification of the Son at the cross?

Is our Lord is returning in His glorified body?

C.How this will happen is the third thing to note.

1 John 3:2 - Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when He appears we shall be like Him, because we shall see Him as he is.

Isaiah 59:2 - but your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God,

and your sins have hidden His face from you so that he does not hear.

Revelation 22:4 - They will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads.

Not only will we see Him in all His glory — but we will share in His glory.

D.This will take place in the experience of the whole church at the same time.

Colossians 3:4 - When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.

Christians can all experience the great joy of glorification as a family.

What will our bodies be like?
