Áine O’Connell of the new books podcast I Think You Should Read joins us as we get super earnest about Baz Luhrmann’s 2001 spectacular spectacular Moulin Rouge. We just kind of geek out about it really Sarah and Áine both have a deep and lengthy relationship with film so there was a lot to talk about. It’s a good one.
Áine is @ainereads. She co-hosts I Think You Should Read, a podcast about books you should read.

WELCOME TO THE JAM. Author Richy Craven joins us to talk about the biggest Michael Jordan/Looney Tunes crossover event of 1996, Space Jam. We also find time to talk about Tom Cruise’s love of cinema as is only right and proper. It’s a good time.
Richy is @RichyCraven. His debut novel Spirit Level is out April 25th.
Alan is @alan_maguire. Juvenalia is his main thing right now but he’s doing a bit of stand up here and there.

Comedian Tim Platt from Rude Tales Of Magic and Oh These Those Stars Of Space joins us to talk about the impact that Jim Carrey and The Mask had on him as a child. We talk about Carrey’s performance and Cameron Diaz and Milo The Dog and the special effects of course but also about figuring out your artistic vocation, The Mask as alcohol, Man On The Moon, and the editorial biases of Edge City’s newspapers. It’s a good time.

Welcome to The OC bitch! Jessa Hastings, author of the Magnolia Parks Universe books, joins us as we put on our collared t-shirts and huge belts to talk about The OC! We talk about how Adam Brody changed nerds forever, finding Marissa annoying, Sandy and Kirsten, the music, the clothes, and how The OC is directly responsible for the scripted reality explosion of the mid-noughties. It’s a good time.

Comedian Sophia Cadogan joins us to talk about 1994’s Interview With The Vampire. We talk about the hair, and the necks, and the blood. But also about Kirsten Dunst’s amazing performance. We try to figure out why the coffins are important. We admire Brad PItt’s character’s action-oriented problem-solving methods (setting fire to everything all of the time). We had a lot of fun. You will too probably?
You can find Sophia everywhere at @SophiaCadogan...
Comedian Alexandra Haddow joins us as we try to talk about how much we love Robin Williams without crying
Alexandra is @MissAHaddow. She’s on tour right NOW. You can find all the info right here.

Welcome to our first proper episode of 2024. If you listened to our Weezer episode or our Patreon episodes then you know that Andrea and Alan are big fans of Pat Finnerty. Pat makes a fantastic youtube series called What Makes This Song Stink. We were delighted when he agreed to appear on the show and even more delighted when he picked Spinal Tap.
P.S...
Happy Weird Inbetweeny Bit of the year where nothing’s really happening. We realised that people don’t get around to Christmas episodes of podcasts until January so we just talked about some non-Christmassy things we’d been watching lately. We also did our Off Menu menus just for the hell of it.
We’re going to take a break for a couple of weeks while we get everything lined up for 2024 but we’ll back soon. Thanks for sticking around.
Alan, Sarah, and Andrea...
What’s this? What’s this? Meg Hyland’s back to talk to us about The Nightmare Before Christmas. We were going to rewrite all the lyrics to What’s This to be about the podcast but literally none of the words associated with this podcast scan with the meter of the song so instead just listen to the episode. It’s about creative burnout, and mall goths, and passing the wierd parts of yourself onto younger relatives.
Meagan is @meghyland. She’s extremely talented, follow her...
Award-winning podcaster Andy Gaffney returns to Juvenalia to stun us with the depth and breadth of his Power Rangers knowledge. We talk about b-sides of Power Rangers singles, the two Rita Repulsas, Power Rangers Live In The Point Depot Dublin, Jedward(?), and lots, lots more.
PS There’s a little bit of talk about Santa, so if you listen to Juvenalia around believers, it might be better to keep this one for later.
