I Read Comic Books

This week it’s a Goodread’s Pick of the Month from the IRCB crew and we read Snow Blind by Ollie Masters, Tyler Jenkins, and Colin Bell. Also this week, our newest regular guest: Kait Lamphere! Kate and Mike welcome Kait to the group and a lively discussion is had.

Paul and Nick join Mike this week to discuss movie adaptations of non-super hero comics. When do these adaptations work? When do they not work? And post-credits this week, there’s a whole discussion just about the recent Batman arc: “The War of Jokes and Riddles.”

This week, Tia and Brian join Mike to discuss holiday gift giving for your comic-inclined and not-so-comic-inclined friends. It’s a hoot and a holler and full of some questionable choices made by a much younger Mike.

This week we have another amazing interview. Deniz Camp, comic writer, chicken-raiser, and fantastic person joins Mike, Paul, and Brian to talk about the life of a comic creator and what it means to try to write something meaningful, different, and surprising.

Mike and special guest Jon sit down to talk about Mass Effect: Redemption from Dark Horse. Jon is participating in Extra Life 2017 to help raise funds to help children in need via Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and wanted to come onto the show to help promote this great cause and, you know, also talk about some fantastic comics based on the Mass Effect game series.
