This session provides an overview of the National Defense Education Act of 1958. This far-reaching program provided such things as student loans, fellowship grants, guidance programs, programs for the purchase of equipment; and, last but not least, a twofold aspect to support research and experimentation in the uses of television, radio, motion pictures, and related media for educational purposes—and to disseminate this information by all appropriate means.
