We're currently watching through a curated 100 episode list titled "Venturing Through The Universe." In this list, we're exploring how the Star Trek franchise has grown and changed over the decades, beginning with its origins in 1964 and seeing where it ends up in the modern day. We'll go on adventures with Mister Spock, listen to Patrick Stewart wax philosophically about humanity, and see how high Captain Pike's towering pompadour can get. Covering the good, the bad, and the ugly, we'll get a look at just about everything Star Trek has to offer. episode 1: "The Cage"
It's the very first episode, for both our podcast and the entire Star Trek franchise! Everything great has humble beginnings, and in Star Trek's case, it all starts with one man's dream about making a "space western," a kind of TV show no one had ever seen before. In our case, it starts with two blokes watching an episode of Star Trek, grabbing a mic, and praying for God to bless them with a good podcast...
episode 2: "Where No Man Has Gone Before"
Sometimes it takes a couple of pilots to get a show off the ground, and even then, there's no guarantee that the second one will get it right. Does Star Trek's second pilot get it right? What about OUR show's second episode? Do we get it right? Will we ever? Maybe not, but at least you'll get to hear us talk about what we love about Star Trek and how we feel about this early episode of Star Trek: The Original Series.

We all fall in love with things in our way and in our own time. For some, their love of Star Trek started with a visit to space camp and old VHS tapes. For some, it was watching the debut episode of Star Trek: The Original Series back in 1966. If this first episode doesn't make us fall in love with it, then we'll at least have our first guest host to fall in love with instead.

episode 8: "A Private Little War"
Tonight, on a very special episode of Star Trek Stories, we dive head long into the Vietnam War. Well, at least as far as Star Trek sees it--you know, natives in white wigs, bellbottom pants, giant poisonous monkeys, the usual stuff you think of when you imagine Vietnam. Buckle up as we jump into this troubled episode of Star Trek: The Original Series to see if we can find any insights into the infamous 20th century conflict. And if not, it'll at least be good for a few laughs...

Oh boy, it's a 60's Star Trek story about women, so we must be in for a sexist treat. We might have fared a little better if it were an earlier episode of the show, but this one's from the third season and we all know how that one went.
