A Spokesperson for West On Track belives an increase in rail freight transportation will provide major economic benefits for the Banner county. It comes as works are underway under Ianróid Eireann's Rail Freight Strategy for 2040 to reconnect Foynes Port in Limerick to the train network. The service would see goods transported from Rosslare to Limerick , before passing through Clare and ultimately onto Mayo. However Colman Ó Raghallaigh from West On Track believes the provision of a rail stop in Crusheen will soon be required to support the increased demand for rail freight in the coming years.
