Council CEO Hails Momentous Day For Clare Tourism


The Chief Executive of Clare County Council has described the transfer of Shannon Heritage sites to the local authority as a "momentous day" for the tourism sector in the region. At yesterday's special meeting of Clare County Council, councillors voted unamiously to support the transfer of the sites and associated Clare Tourism Sites from Shannon Airport Group to the local authority. Councillors agreed to the multi-annual support package proposed by government to facilitate the takeover of Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, Craggaunowen, Knappogue Castle and the Cliffs of Moher gift shop. Council CEO Pat Dowling says that the county councillors decision to approve the transfer is an important endorsement for the executive.
