Adriel Luis is a self-taught musician, poet, curator, coder, and visual artist based in Los Angeles. With a background in Asian American studies, Adriel's work explores the connections between native identity, diaspora, and belonging. As a curator at the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center, Adriel focuses on digital and emerging practices, seeking to bring diverse voices and perspectives to the forefront.
Adriel discusses his creative journey and the various mediums he works in. From writing poetry to web and graphic design, Adriel's work is informed by his love for spoken word and his desire to make art accessible to a wider audience. As a curator at the Smithsonian Asian Pacific American Center, Adriel explores digital and emerging practices, aiming to address pressing issues and promote collaboration. He recently curated a music compilation called "Bravespace," featuring Asian American women and non-binary artists exploring the themes of meditation and mindfulness.
