Ennis Lions Club Recycle For Eyesight
On Tuesday's Morning Focus, Alan was joined by Trevor Mangan, from Ennis Lions Club and Marie O'Neil, Ennis project manager. Lions Clubs International sponsor a worldwide collection and distribution of used spectacles to third-world countries, of which Ennis Lions Clubs are a part of. Ennis Lions have created spectacle collection units, with a number of drop-off points around the county town. Trevor discussed how the Ennis Lions Club has been involved with the initiative for over thirty years and highlighted how he took it over twenty-five years ago. Marie outlined how even a simple pair of spectacles can have a massive impact on someone's life and explained how they ship spectacles all over the world.
