Met Eireann expects Ireland's weather to become more extreme due to climate change. The new Climate Averages published by the broadcaster show that annual average rainfall has increased by 7 percent, while there's around 63 more hours of annual sunshine. Meanwhile, temperatures have reached around 46 degrees Celsius in parts of Italy later, while wildfires have broken out in areas near Athens and the Canary Islands, with thousands forced to evacuate. Met Éireann forecaster from Tullycrine, Michelle Dillon, says this weather is expected in a warming climate.
