We’ve noticed a pretty weird trend in the Twitter/X world recently, and we’re not quite sure what to make of it, but we have come to one conclusion – people are getting frail.

Kevin kicks off the episode with the tweet that inspired this discussion. It shows a screenshot from a TikTok about someone who doesn’t have as much of a grasp on genetics as they might think, and there are a shocking number of people that agree with her. All this raises a number of questions like, do these people have others around to filter them? Is it all just well-placed bait? And how does freedom of expression on these platforms fit into it all?

Then we dive into the role that responsibility plays, and just how far refusing to take it can set you back. That leads us into another example about supposed “bodybuilding” that takes a surprising turn midway through. Kevin talks about selection bias, Matt details how he specifically curates his Twitter feed, and we discuss the time honored tradition of slapstick humor.

We finish things up by looking back on the hilariously bad auditions for shows like American Idol and The X Factor, and the sheer confidence those people exuded. We talk about the ever-growing art of being confidently wrong, and Matt talks about his most recent online spat.

Thanks to everyone who tuned in live, and thanks especially to our supportive patrons. We’ll see you all again next week!
