1. The Michigan State Situation

Starts at 1:00

ESPN and USA Today have released articles detailing Mel Tucker's investigation of sexual harassment involving Brenda Tracy. Mel Tucker is turbo fired but legally they need to follow the process and put him on administrative leave for now. An alarming number of Big Ten programs have tried to hide damning reports from the media. When will universities hold themselves accountable for their actions?

2. Offense vs UNLV

Starts at 17:04

Once again, the story is JJ playing out of his mind. The evaluating of his incompletions is, once again, short. Some of his throws are just ridiculous. When the linebackers turn their backs, he sees it and throws behind them. His pocket movement is good enough to give him the extra beat to get a throw off. He even had a couple nice runs. The receivers appear to be reading the coverage and JJ is on the same page as them. The only thing we really haven't seen is a deep ball. UNLV covered the deep and intermediate routes, so JJ just hits Blake Corum for 20 yards. JJ is projecting to be the best Michigan quarterback of our lives. Where is Alex Orji? Jack Tuttle's run looked really nice before he got injured. Jayden Denegal had a nice throw. Tyler Morris has emerged and is a good blocker. The ground game wasn't what you'd like. UNLV did load the box at times but the dive plays are too predictable. They're not rotating the tackles like they said they would. It doesn't look like there's any major issue but there are a bunch of little things. Is there reason to just expect this year's run game to not be the same as last year? Even if that's the case, that's fine because JJ.

3. Hot Takes, Defense, and Special Teams

Starts at 1:06:54

Takes hotter than JJ McCarthy, what else is there to say? How upsetting is it that Michigan got the same score as Ohio State? We were all hyped up about the Go-Go offense and then they didn't do anything. The expectations for the defensive line are being met emphatically. Cam Goode is out there making plays. Derrick Moore is moving incredibly for someone that weighs 260 pounds. Who is blocking this defensive line, Purdue? Mike Barrett's ability to locate a swing pass early was fun. No Rod Moore, Will Johnson came in for a series. Keon Sabb played like a promising sophomore. Caden Kolesar shined in this game. Jyaire Hill seems like he's still on track to start by the end of the year. Punt return situation is a bit of a caretaker situation. Tommy Doman is booming his punts.

4. Around the Big Ten with Jamie Mac

Starts at 1:49:33

Iowa - 20
Iowa State - 13

Cade McNamara was 12/22 for 123 yards and an interception. Oof. Defensive touchdowns do count for Brian Ferentz's 25 points per game goal.

Colorado - 36
Nebraska - 14

Who has the most career turnovers as a player (fumbles and interceptions). Jeff Sims has to be up there (he's at 37). This game had to be so frustrating for the Nebraska defense. They had eight sacks!

Purdue - 24
Virginia Tech - 17

Purdue has a viable run game and destroyed the Virginia Tech run game. It's a road game win against a power five team for the Big Ten! The rain delay in this game was five and a half hours. Purdue spent its time playing spades.

Washington State - 31
Wisconsin - 22

Who isn't rooting for Washington State this season, all things considered? Oregon State fans cheered really loud when this score was announced at their stadium. It's depressing that both of these teams will lose almost all the traditions their fans grew up to love. It's a sin against college football for Wisconsin to not be Wisconsin and they are being punished.

Ohio State - 35
Youngstown State - 7

Feels like a vintage Ohio State team should score 70 in this game. Notre Dame is looming in two weeks and the Irish are looking pretty good.

Kansas - 34
Illinois - 23

Illinois had a defensive collapse, giving up 277 passing yards and allowing two rushers to get 120 and 98 yards. Kansas only punted once. Illinois has Penn State up next, this could be a long year for the Illini. Their dudes at defensive tackle got wrecked.

The rest of the games were pretty much blowouts, there aren't really any takes. Besides Biff Poggi's arms.
