Critical Q&A #436

This week, we talk about when groups become cults, how Scientology deals with security breaches, why they feel recovering “blown Scientologists” is so important and a lot more. Enjoy!

(1) In your opinion, from all your studies, do you think there’s a tipping point at which a benign group can become a destructive cult? What might that look like and how can we watch for any particular signs?

(2) What would be the proper steps when there is such a security breach such as the infiltration by a Quebec reporter in Canada recently? This went on CBC Radio-Canada and has 611,000 views at last count. Surely someone is doing hard labor? I am also curious if any SO staff were in that org would they be RPF’ed? Oh Canada indeed! Do you think there could be other similar attempts in other nations or by English speaking journalists? It’s not easy to get by that meter check.

(3) What books did Hubbard ask that his followers read, beyond the ones he authored?

(4) Why does Scientology go to such inordinate lengths to recover escaped Scientologists because it’s obvious they don’t want to be there? What’s the upside for Scientology?

(5) What are your thoughts on PTSI? As opposed to PTSD.
