So this is a little break from the norm by me. I got the chance to play a birthday party at my local venue & off the back of this they have offered me the Friday night residency. To be fair, all they really had by comparison was poorly executed trance & reggaeton, so whilst it is party orientated, I included tracks to test the waters & see what I could get away with, it is largely easily accessible & mostly from back of the stack with a tracklist that went like this:

It was really refreshing to be able to play music without any expectation or preconception. The crowd (small) had no prior exposure to this music, thus no idea whether it was current, a classic, now considered cheesy, or any personal memory association from back in the day. It was new to them, they liked it & I enjoyed the hell out of giving it to them. To put the venue into perspective, here's their promo video for last year...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zcIw_Dq4UL0 Unfortunately since the earthquake the crowd is nothing like it was, however, that means I get to be part of the community building it back up, playing music I love in a fantastic bar in my kinda paradise hashtaglivingthedream :)
Whilst it still may be a while before I return to radio, I will post a live set here now & again if it feels right.
