episode 1322: The Lakers Lose to Miami... but Anthony Davis is Very Close to Returning!
Let's begin with the glass half full, shall we?
The Lakers' 113-107 loss to the Heat in Miami featured a second half comeback cutting a lead once as big as 26 down to four, indicative of their unwillingness to fold up the tents and quit against a team outplaying them in every facet. However much you think that push was the Heat having pulled their starters and taking their foot off the gas, rather than the Lakers actually playing better, can be debated. But either way, the visitors deserve credit for wanting to make a game of things.
But glass half empty... holy hell, did the Lakers play incompetently bad basketball during the first half and change against Miami! Like, shockingly bad! "WTF are you people doing???" bad. And that badness raised some interesting postgame thoughts from Russell Westbrook, Avery Bradley and LeBron James about issues like playing hard, playing smart, playing with purpose, and what are the biggest problems plaguing the Lakers right now. If nothing else, it revealed a lot about different world views of different players.
