The Lakers have balanced the health of Anthony Davis with the need to win as many games as humanly possible in order to make the postseason, which is why he's sat out a game in back-to-back sets since returning from injury. But are there signs he might suit up for tonight's game in Utah, then Wednesday against the Clippers? Chris Haynes from Yahoo! reported it was possible, but the Lakers haven't said.

Davis is listed as probable for tonight, which if past is prologue means he won't play Wednesday. So does it make sense he could be cleared now to do stuff he wasn't cleared to do two weeks ago? Sure, it could. And you have to figure the Lakers, now that the odds heavily favor them making the play in, wouldn't suddenly get fast and loose with AD's health.

But if he could only play one, which should it be? (Hint: Not tonight.)

From there, it's worth noting the Lakers aren't simply benefitting by having LeBron come back much faster than expected (and returning D'Angelo Russell to the lineup) in terms of this season. Seeing the group together playing real minutes in important games gives Rob Pelinka a lot of important data for next year, too. He's going decisions to make, and particularly when it comes to role guys, it can be hard to see their value without being surrounded by the full range of teammates. Context really matters with those guys.
