Mein Gast DoP Paul Pieck spricht über den Kinofilm “Schock” und warum jedes Bild im Film weh tut. Mit Gastgeber Timo Landsiedel unterhielt sich Pieck vor Live-Publikum auf der LEat X Cinec in München im Februar über kollaboratives Arbeiten und warum er die Sony VENICE wählte. Inklusive Q&A nach dem Gespräch!
Die Schmerzen auf der Leinwand sind dank DoP Paul PIeck auch im Kinosessel fast körperlich spürbar. So eine physische Erfahung ist der Gangsterfilm “Schock”. Wobei, ist es überhaupt ein Gangsterfilm? Mein Eindruck ist stark, dass die sehr kollaborative Arbeit aller Gewerke dazu geführt hat, dass “Schock” sich vieler Korsetts befreit, in die man in der aktuellen Film- und Serienwelt schnell hineingerät. Der Film transzendiert demnach sein Genre.
Das ist auch DoP Paul Pieck BVK anzurechnen. Pieck drehte nach seinem Studium an der FH Dortmund Anfang der 2000er diverse Kurzfilme, Dokumentarfilme und Comedy fürs Internet. Danach folgten TV-Krimi-Reihen für ARD und ZDF, wie „Heiter bis tödlich“ und „Marie Brand“ sowie auch die Spielfilme aus der Reihe “Harter Brocken” „Der Waffendeal“ 2021 und „Der Goldrausch“ 2023.
Befreites ArbeitenMit kleinem Besteck und klaren Konzepten drehte das Team den Film im Kölner Winter. Kern der kreativen Auseinandersetzung war das Regieduo Daniel Rakete Siegel und Denis Moschitto. Hinzu kamen DoP Paul Pieck und Editor David Wieching. Gemeinsam schufen sie einen außergewöhnlichen Genrebeitrag. Paul erzählt uns, wie sie das taten.
