Roots and Consequences of 'The Great War'

(Originally broadcast 11-11-14) this episode of Walter Edgar's Journal is an encore broadcast of a program that aired in 2014, the 100th year since the start of World War I. Veterans day, celebrated in the U.S. on November 11, was once known here, as it still is in Europe, as Armistice Day. It marked the end of "The War to End All Wars" in 1918. Dr. S. Paul Mackenzie, a professor of History at the University of South Carolina, and expert on the Great War, talks with Dr. Edgar about the causes and the impact of the war on the countries that fought it. All Stations: Fri, Nov 11, 12 pm | News Stations: Sun, Nov 13, 4 pm
