Widow receives fraction of promised compensation after devastating floods
On June 19th, torrential rains inundated the city of Duhok, leading to extensive flooding and significant damage to residential and commercial properties. Naseem Sadiq spoke to Mrs. Mary Yousif, a 65-year-old widow whose home was submerged and suffered severe destruction. Mrs Yousif told Naseem Sadiq that despite a government promise of Ten Million Dinars in compensation, she only received Six Million, around Seven Thousand Australian Dollars.
