Unveiling of Chhaughar - novel authored by Raj Sargam
Chhaughar, a novel authored by Raj Sargam, was officially released in the capital, on December 20. The novel is based on the contemplation of a 12 year old girl who is compelled to live in a menstrual hut for 22 days straight, following the Chhaupadi Pratha—a tradition that banishes women from everyday life during their menstruation. Celebrities such as actor Hari Bansha Acharya, former Miss Nepal Malvika Subba, and novelist Amar Neupane, among others were present during the event.
