FOF #2445 – The Biology of Homosexuality – 02.01.17

Gay pride is as natural as it gets. We couldn’t show you this photo if it was humans doing the same thing.

You only have to look at ancient art and writings to know that among human beings, same-sex attraction has existed across time and cultures. Even in the animal kingdom, you’ll see beasts of all shapes and sizes acting like they’re ready to march in a Gay Pride parade.

But in our culture, studying homosexuality comes with a lot of political and religious baggage so it’s difficult making sense of why so many of us are gay.

Today, science journalist Vince Gabrielle joins us to take a look at the sexy science of homosexuality: all the popular studies, some successful and some far fetched, that scientists have done over the past 60 years to try to understand what makes people gay.

Plus– the gay best friend archetype and the dangers of eugenics.

Gay genes, gay brains, gay lions, and strong lizards that don’t need no damn man.

“Mmm, hmm. I know that’s right.” says the whiptail lizard, where some all-female species produce offspring without any men. -source.
