In drag and club kid culture, the freakier you look, the more beautiful you are. So, for many gender and sexually nonconforming folks, embracing being a weirdo in the nightlife scene is a wonderful way of unlocking the beauty that lies within.
Today, bearded beauty JerFay, who hosts a lip sync contest at Berlin nightclub for those in and out of drag, joins us to tell his story of growing up Baptist in Texas, falling in love with a boy in 7th grade and being forced into state mandated torture to force him to hide his sexuality.
