FOF #2516 – Right In Front of My Salad? – 08.10.17

A tribute to all the fabulous black women who have gone viral over the years: Nikki V (a.k.a. Mrs. Romaine) “Right in Front of My Salad,” Sweet Brown “Ain’t Nobody Got Time for That,” Alexis Tylor “Dick I’ll Make You SLAP Somebody!” and Auntie Angel “Grapefruit Technique.”

Ever since folks started posting content on the Internet, there have been people pretending to be someone they are not- con artists, catfishers and even digital blackface has made the Internet a terrible place.

Black Twitter identities have been stolen or made up to thwart civil rights conversations, but, digital blackface also extends to how non-black users prefer to use reaction GIFs featuring black folks to express their most exaggerated emotions.

Don’t worry, no one is coming for your NeNe Leakes GIFs but on today’s show we are asking “are you coming for them correct?”

Joining us is comedian Colette Gregory to take a look at racism and comedy on the Internet and why some folks rely a little too much on their favorite sassy black women GIFs to express themselves on online.
