Dolly Parton loves to say “It costs a lot of money to look this cheap!” Girl, don’t we know it. Showgirls, pageant gals and drag queens everywhere find the cost of being fabulous is like the rent- too damn high!

Folks in the audience may tip a dollar but unless there’s a few fives or twenties in there then sometimes the cost of doing drag is a money pit.

Houston Texas queen Violet S’Arbleu details every penny she spends on drag in a blog article “She Works Hard for the Money” and says that getting up in geish can cost up to $1000!
