Cookie Cart “provides teens 15 to 18 years old with lasting and meaningful work, life and leadership skills through experience and training in an urban nonprofit bakery.” It is also one of the earlier examples of a charitable, social enterprise in the Twin Cities area.

Executive Director Matt Halley joins host Steve Boland to talk about the Cookie Cart mission, how social enterprise is a mission-based tool and not a financial management solution (most often), and how a capital-intensive charity needs to communicate about the importance of donated revenue along side earned-revenue components.
