Since the late 80s Steven Perfidia Kirkham has styled wigs for some of your favorite entertainers. In the film Wigstock, Perfidia can be seen working the wig counter at Patricia Fields on some of the biggest queens’ wigs of the era.
Perfidia created the iconic hair flip for Amy Sedaris’ character Jerri Blank on the second season of Strangers with Candy and he also created the new look for Chairry and Ms. Yvonne on the Broadway production of Pee Wee’s Playhouse.
Incredibly, we filmed Perfidia for what may be the final episode of Cooking with Drag Queens in her home In New York City while she styled the wig for Bob the Drag Queen just days before Bob went onto RuPaul’s Drag Race to become “America’s Next Drag Superstar.”
Today, Perfidia joins us to kiki about all the marvelous wigs she fluffed up night after night for Hedwig and the Angry Inch on Broadway and what didn’t make it on her episode of Cooking with Drag Queens.
