Blockchain and (yet another) revolution in IT
There are many buzzwords in IT and sometimes they stand for real paradigm shiftts. One of these buzzwords lately has been Bitcoin and the underlying technology which is called blockchain for its blocks of data that is transparently chained together in a way that makes after-the-fact changes impractically hard. If you work with startups like Sebastian and Dirk sometimes do, then you also quickly notice that many claim to use blockchain and often to solve problems that may have a better solution already.
So, in the end the question is: Is it really as revolutionary as some claim or is it in the end mostly smoke and mirrors?
