Great Shot, Kid 10 - One-Stop Comics Seal of Approval

The Rocketeer

Joe Johnston got his start at ILM on the original Star Wars trilogy. After winning an Oscar for his work on Raiders of the Lost Ark, Johnston was sent to USC by George Lucas to learn the art of directing. Since then, Johnston has been an A-list filmmaker, having directed such movies as Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, October Sky, and Captain America: The First Avenger.

In this episode of Great Shot, Kid, Mike and John take a look at one of Johnston's most beloved films, The Rocketeer. We discuss the movie's comic book origins, Johnston's influences, and what we can expect from the upcoming sequel.
