Gilbert House Fellowship #211: Daniel 8-9

IT'S NO WONDER Daniel was so distressed by the visions we discuss this week that he "lay sick for some days."

Our study this week focuses on the vision of the coming of Alexander the Great and Antiochus Epiphanes, a precursor and type of the Antichrist, and the famous "seventy weeks" prophecy of Daniel 9:24-27 which includes the prophecy to the "abomination of desolation" (Daniel 9:27) used by Jesus in the Olivet Discourse (Matt. 24:15-16, Mark 13:14, and Luke 21:20-21).

We discuss the meaning and timing of the seventy weeks, why it points to a pre-tribulation rapture, and possible interpretations of "the people of the prince who is to come." (Yes, it's Rome, but "Rome" had a much broader meaning throughout most of history than we think.)
