The Naturist Living Show

A podcast about naturism for naturists (nudism and nudists to some people) While we obviously cover issues related to nudity, naturism is about much more than being naked so we cover topics related to self-esteem, body-image, body-acceptance, and living in a more natural way. The podcast is produced by Bare Oaks Family Naturist Park in Ontario, Canada.

episode 27: Pornography

Every naturist needs to understand pornography because the images of naturism are so often classified as pornographic by the general public. And, for nearly a century, hustlers have exploited naturists in order to create porn. But most importantly, we need to understand how pornography is hurting us and affecting our relationships.  Not only is naturism NOT about pornography, it actually offers an antidote to its ills. Links to items mentioned in the show:

  • Stop Porn Culture website
  • The book Pornland; How Porn has Hijacked our Sexuality
  • The episode of the Naturist Living Show on Exploitation
The song at the beginning of the show was “Nature is” by Brian Madison. We also celebrate passing 100, 000 downloads (not hits or impressions) of the show! And that number to continues to grow every day and the rate of growth is also increasing. Here are a few facts about the podcast:
  • It is audio-only so only true naturists or those genuinely interested in naturism listen (we don’t get download of the show from people just looking for nudity because there are no pictures)
  • Each download is many megabytes in size and the show is nearly an hour long so the involvement level is very high. (it’s not just a ‘hit’ or ‘impression’)
  • Unlike a radio or TV show, the podcasts are available forever. Even the oldest episode is still growing in listenership as new people discover the show and catch up on the older episodes.
  • While there are no specific demographics available, the audience is obviously technologically savvy which suggests that they are well-educated and younger.
  • There are listeners are from around the world. (18% Canada, 39% USA, 26% Europe, & 17% other)
