Did You Reddit?

A (mostly) weekly podcast about the Internet, by way of Reddit: the front page of the Internet. Each episode, u/ItsYerDad, u/MyFreeday, and u/DogBoobes discuss a different Subreddit, and the subcultures that this subreddit is about…kindof.

episode 78: 78: r/treasure, Ohio's Greatest Fugitive Pirate, and The Government Wants Your Coins

Evidently, 17 billion dollars of lost treasure was recently found off the coast of Columbia, which flies in the face of our assumptions that treasure hunting is some lost art left to the plot lines of Johnny Depp films. However, apparently that 17 billion with a B is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to all the cashsishe still lost in the world, so we decided to take a look at r/treasure to get a glimpse into the world of modern treasure hunters. In doing so, we basically discover what we already could have guessed - the government wants your treasure - which is why our new favorite human is Tommy G Thomson, the Ohio-raised pirate currently sitting in jail for not telling America where he put all the treasure he found. Plus, we revisit the concept of remote pods, and Epcot Center is kind of racist now apparently. This episode brought to you by the Pirates of the Caribbean Ride at Disneyland.
