In part one of this series on Simulation Theory, a simulation hypothesis or simulation theory is the proposal that all of reality, including the Earth and the rest of the universe, could in fact be an artificial simulation, such as a computer simulation. There are still some who wonder if those tiny manifestations of ones and zeroes on our computer screens are indicative of a weirder reality: if we are doing terrible things to digital humans , like in the widely popular video game "The Sims", whose to say that we aren't Sims ourselves and a player on a level above us isn't doing awful things to us?
