President Biden campaigned on a return to a multilateral foreign policy and rejoined many global initiatives on his first day in the Oval Office. Ivo Daalder, President of the Chicago Council on Global Affairs and co-author of the gripping “The Empty Throne: America’s Abdication of Global Leadership,” joins Altamar to talk about America’s future and its place in the global arena. Daalder was formerly the U.S. ambassador to NATO, a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution, and director for European affairs at the NSC under President Bill Clinton.
